ABSTRACT
The current research investigation generally looks into how young individuals perceive ecigarettes in an explanatory way. This study is intended to discover more about how young individuals perceive e-cigarettes in order to supplement existing knowledge and to suggest preventive measures. An explanatory sequential design was used to identify the objective of the investigation, specifically descriptive research design combined with phenomenological research design. Furthermore, a snowball sample approach was used to choose young individuals for an in-depth semi-structured interview and an online survey. Raosoft is used in which accumulated
120 respondents for the online survey and 5 participants for the in-depth semi-structured interview, which is quite significant. Then, to analyze and interpret the data, the researchers used the mean formula and frequency distribution. For assurance concerning the reliability and validity of the data, the researchers for all intents and purposes had a content validator to essentially ensure it and the instruments used are validated with the used of test-retest reliability with the help of Jamovi that resulted to a p-value of 0.032. Through the analyzed data, the study revealed that e-cigarettes are popular among young individuals because of their safety, convenience, taste, and availability, which are directly linked to peer influence, curiosity, flavors, and availability. Young Individuals have no problems with the usage of e-cigarettes, but the negative consequences from the usage take some time to occur. It is recommended for young individuals who smoke, to reduce and best to break off e-cigarettes as part of their lifestyle.
