Summary: Abstract: Considering the crucial role of the faculty in the learning experience of the students, assessment of their performance is of prime importance. This study deals with the assessment of teaching qualities of 24 second year faculty from seven departments based on the perception of 254 Sophomore medical students in FEU-NRMF during the first semester covering the period from May 24 to August 20, 1993. Strong points and weak points in teaching were identified based on six categories. The research documents that the overall faculty from all departments received favorable responses with a rating of 96.28% for preparation and organization of the subject matter, 93.37% for knowledge of the subject matter, 93.93% for communication skills, 92.57% for rapport building, 94.51% for time management, and 93.12% for class management. The faculty in general faired well in this evaluation, however enhancement and continuous development as well as enrichment of these teaching qualities remains to be necessary.
