Summary: Abstract: The mosquitocidal and toxic effect of allicin extract from garlic will be investigated using the following species of mosquitoes: Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus. Two modes of delivery were used: fumigation and spray technique in order to evaluate which is the effective method in killing the susceptible species of mosquitoes. Between the two modes of delivery, spray (100% killed) on both species of mosquitoes showed a better result than fumigation (90% killed) on Aedes aegypti and (100% killed) on Aedes albopictus. The effect was also comparable to the observed effect with the commercial insecticide which was used as a positive control (100% killed) on both species. The results of this study suggested that pure garlic extract has insecticidal and toxic effects on Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus.
