ABSTRACT: Atrial Fibrillations is the most common sustained arrythmia in adults which puts them at risk of hospitalization and thromboembolic events. Data from stroke centers in the Philippines showed 20% of stroke patients had AF-associated stroke. The presence of an enlarged atrium increased the chances of developing AF. Left Atrial Volume Index (LAVI) provides a more accurate measure of LA size.
