ABSTRACT: Two well-known brands of baby soap and baby powder were tested on Japanese White rabbits following the procedure of the Federal Hazardous Substances Act, Federal Register (1972) for Primary Skin Irritation test. The purpose of this study is to verify the safety (as a result of being truly hypoallergenic) of the two selected baby soap and baby powder that are abundantly accessible in the market nowadays. Fifty percent ethanol served as a control. The results proved that the Primary Irritation Index (PII) of the two baby soap and baby powder tested were midly irritating, thus, confirming it to be really hypoallergenic. The findings strengthen the safety and hypoallergenic property of the two selected baby soap and baby powder.
