Medicine Research project
A retrospective study of hysterectomized patients in FEU-NRMF Medical Center from the year 2000-2002 with histophathological diagnosis of adenomyosis from which cases of infertility were identified. This is a pilot study of the occurence of intertility in women with adenomyosis and vice versa, based from recommendation by several international authors regarding the subject. Of the seventy five patients with adenomyosis from 193 hysterectomy specimen, only 12 cases had infertility problems and these were associated with other pelvic lesions such as leiomyoma and endometroisis. Four infertile were with adenomyosis solely on histopathology.
