Summary: ABSTRACT: There have been debates about the mainstream use of alternative forms of medicine. Their effectivity, whether as adjunct or main therapy, show conflicting results. Yet the use of alternative medicine is steadily growing as evidenced by the increase in the number of commercials for dietary supplements and spa treatments that offer holistic therapy. This study, thus aims to provide an insight into the current trends that influence the use of complementary and alternative medicine among Filipinos. This study further hopes to discuss these influences to give better view to the Filipino doctor regarding his patients and how complementary and alternative medicine is likely to play a role in the treatment process.
