Summary: Abstract: In a country like the Philippines, while the prevalence of tuberculosis is still high, and where resistant cases is increasing, the proper management of cases should be of utmost importance. Efforts therefore, should be geared towards the improvement of the care provided by Primary care physicians, i. e., Family Physicians. Being on the frontline of DOH Programs on health care it is therefore necessary that the levels of knowledge, attitude and practices of Family Physicians regarding PTB be determined. A descriptive study was conducted on 106 members of the Philippine Academy of Family Physicians in Sampaloc and Sta. Cruz, Manila. The research group have formulated a scoring system using questionnaires. The study revealed that there is no significant gaps in the knowledge, attitude and practices of this physicians although there are some who did not fare well, this paper points out the need for continuing education of all physicians and at all levels in order to maintain a high level of knowledge, attitudes and practices. It is recommended that a similar study should be done on a larger scale to attain a clearer picture.
