Abstract: This study use an experimental type of research that aims to determine if there is a significant difference in the pool water characteristics before and after chlorination of the Far Eastern University - Dr. Nicanor Reyes Medical Foundation swimming pool as well as to determine if the chlorine applied in the swimming pool is enough to diminish the coliform bacteria in the said pool. This study collected samples from the swimming pool every morning and afternoon every other day where coliform colonies, total coliform, pH level and temperature were examined. The results of this study show that there is no significant difference before and after chlorination of the swimming pool. The results show that there were no coliform colonies and total coliform present in the pool water. The average pH level in the morning is 8.2 while the average pH level in the afternoon is 8.4 indicating that the pool is at safe levels. On the other hand, the average temperatures of both morning and afternoon is 25.57 °C indicating that the pool water is not warm enough for bacteria to grow. Given this result, a portfolio about the swimming pool's physical characteristics will be presented for the school administration, to consider more organized pool water chlorination process.
