Summary: Abstract: This is an information program which aims to disseminate information about PTB prevention and control among the residents of Barangay 542, San Miguel, Manila thru seminar. The existing knowledge, attitudes to TB and prevention practice of 50 subjects were initially determined. They were given a 15-item pre-test questionnaires into three categories: 9 on knowledge of TB. 3 on Prevention practice and 3 on attitude towards self and other people. This served as the baseline data for the preparation of educational pamphlet, posters about TB and as material for the conducts of seminar. During the program, the items with least correct answers were given due to attention. Motivation of TB symptomatics and contacts of TB cases to attend the Health Center for examination and retrievement of treatment defaulter was likewise given emphasis. After the three-week campaign period, the same set of questions in the forms of a post test were taken by the same respondents to evaluate the changes in their behavior. The critical ratio (t-test) was used in the statistical analysis of post-test results where all categories showed significant differences at 0.05 level. In summary in the awareness of the target population about PTB prevention and control. However, whether this knowledge is sustanable weeks further action and evaluation.
