Summary: ABSTRACT: This study aims to describe polypharmacy among geriatric patients in nursing homes. Specifically, it aims to determine the rate and classification of polypharmacy in this age group, and the association between patient's characteristics and rate of polypharmacy. The participants were interviewed and answered a questionnaire about their sociodemographic, current medical condition, and drug intake such as the route dose frequency and the reason for taking said drugs. result showed that two of the characteristics namely hypertension and diabetes mellitus are associated with polypharmacy.
