ABSTRACT: This study was conducted to determine the efficacy of Paraiso (Melia azedarach Linn.) leaf-extract-lotion as an anti-mosquito ( Culex quinquefasciatus) repellent. Female adult mosquitoes (Culex guinquefasciatus) were collected and placed on mosquito cage and different treatment (Paraiso leaf-extract-lotion and commercial mosquito repellent) were applied into twenty (20) subjects` arm. Also, one (1) subjects` arm was used for negative control (without anything applied). The number of mosquitoes that repelled was counted after 10 minutes. Results using Single Analysis of Variance indicated that there was no significant difference among the treatments (Paraiso leaf-extract-lotion and commercial mosquito repellent) used. It also showed that Paraiso leaf-extract-lotion is an effective mosquito repellent.
