Abstract: The existence of placenta previa together with placenta percreta poses a serious life threatening condition especially when it is undiagnosed pre-operatively due to its enormous potential of causing catastrophic haemorrhage accompanied by its associated surgical complications. These conditions are associated with considerable maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. We present a challenging case of placenta percreta diagnosed intraoperatively in a patient with placenta previa totalis who was managed successfully with subtotal hysterectomy with bilateral internal iliac artery ligation.
