Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: Malnutrition in the critically ill has been one of the most prevalent problems in the ICU. Nutritional assessment is a cornerstone in assessing patients at risk for malnutrition. By using validated nutritional screening tools among critically ill patients, clinicians can identify high risk patients and then can provide aggressive nutritional therapy to prevent adverse clinical outcomes.
