Summary, etc. ABSTRACT: The medical field is one of the most stressful occupations, and nurses are one ot the professionals that are exposed to wide-ranging stresses; thus, they are expected to possess the ability to overcome such adversity and adapt positively. Nowadays, the area of specialization for medicine comprises nurses from different generations who come with different sets of strengths and weaknesses and gaps related to their attitude and work habits. The researchers of the study aim to determine whether there is a difference in terms of resiliency between Generation X and Generation Y staff nurses. A 22-item questionnaire from a survey tool created last 2012 named "Resilience Scale for Nurses" was utilized in assessing factors focusing on different aspects that include positivity in nursing, interpersonal skills, having an anchor in personal life, and response to novelty. The results were tabulated, and statistical analysis was performed. A total of 75 respondents responded to a questionnaire, with 24 (32%) from Generation X and 51 (68%) from Generation Y. The results of the responses revealed a verbal interpretation of moderately resilient for both generations. The results of the study showed that both Generation X and Generation Y are moderately resilient, with no significant difference in resilience between Generation X and Generation Y staff nurses working in a tertiary hospital in Quezon City. There are no generational gaps in the resiliency of staff nurses between Generation X and Generation Y. Keywords: Generation X, Generation Y, Resilience, Resilient, Staff nurses
