Summary: Abstract: Dengue virus is considered a public health concern worldwide. Due to rapid increase of dengue cases, the use of laboratory procedures such as the RT-PCR are not ideal due to the long turn-around-time causing delay in sample processing, leading to the delay of treatment. Thus, test kit capable of providing rapid yet accurate results are crucial for a quality clinical management. The application of the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analysis (PRISMA) checklist is appropriate for this type of study which will guide the researchers to produce a significantly relevant paper. The study is curated through the review of various scholarly writings discussing the sensitivity and specificity rate of six (6) rapid test kits namely Humasis Dengue Combo NS1 & IgG/IgM Test, SD Bioeasy Dengue Duo, SD Bioline Dengue Duo NS1 Ag and IgM/IgG test, CareUs Dengue Combo NS1and IgM/IgG kits Panbio Dengue Duo Cassette and Dengue NS1 Ag Strip Bio-Rad. Through utilization of Google Scholar as the search engine, a total of 1,109 articles were relevant to the provided keywords. Out of the 1,109 only 34 articles were included which were distributed to the test kits in review. The specificity and sensitivity values from the scholarly writings designated for every test kit were tabulated and averaged to establish standard representative value for each kit which were compared to one another to determine which provides the highest performance for dengue detection. It is concluded that among the six (6) test kits the CareUs Dengue Combo NS1 and IgM/ IgG Kit exhibited the best performance as a dengue infection diagnostic tool through recognition of both antigen and antibodies specific to dengue in the venipuncture samples.
