Summary: ABSTRACT: Communicating effectively is crucial in the profession of nursing as nurses are fond of communicating with their patients in providing them physical, mental, and emotional support. As delivering quality of care varies, an individual's personality influences their way of communicating. The study investigated the relationship between various personality types and therapeutic communication among student nurses. The study was conducted at the Far Eastern University - Dr. Nicanor Reyes Foundation Medical Center. The respondents of the study were composed of 50 student's nurses enrolled at the same institution. The study employed a probability sampling technique and Kendall's Tau to determine the correlation between student nurse's personality types and their perceived delivery of therapeutic communication. It was found out that the majority of the student nurses included in the study possessed a personality type of Introvert-Sensing-thinking-Judging (ISTJ)' with total percentage of 48.00%. The therapeutic communication that student's nurses delivered had a grand mean of 4.12 (Usually), with the category 'Communication Skills' having the highest overall mean 4.65 (Always). With all of the corresponding p-value more than the significance level of 0.05, the researches failed to reject that null hypothesis; hence, there is no significant relationship between the personality type and perceived therapeutic communication of student nurses. It was concluded that student nurses. It was concluded that student nurses preferred familiar interactions, gather information with facts and details, make unbiased decision with consistency and reasoning, and prefer organized tasks with clear objectives and plans. Therefore, student's nurses provided good communication skills when attending to patients during bedside care. Further, it was confirmed that there is no significant relationship between personality types and therapeutic communication among student nurses.
