ABSTRACT: The researchers chose to conduct a comparative study on the effects of the implementation of the k-12 program and basic education curriculum to help people gain further knowledge of the advantage of and disadvantage of each two curriculum. Furthermore, this study aims to know which among the two curriculums will bring vast improvements in the country's educational system. This study can also serve as a guide in determining which will provide a better quality education. The researchers gathered and collected data from different kinds of literature to be able to have sufficient and strong foundation of related studies. The study is conducted through the descriptive comparative method of research, which is the most appropriate to use in providing explanation based on comparison. This method is inexpensive, and less-time consuming. The conclusion of this study is that the k-12 program would bring greater improvements to the educational system of the Philippines.
